Hartly, DE – S.C. State and Albany St. are on top in Week-2 HSRN’s Div. I FCS and Div. II Top-10 polls. Each week

 during the 2011 season HSRN staff and writers, along with selected media representatives and SIDs, will rank Historical Black Colleges Division I FCS and NCAA Division II teams.

The FCS polls has S.C. State receiving all but one first place vote after last week’s 26-18 win over previous #1 Bethune Cookman. Cookman dropped one spot to #2, while Jackson St. moved up to #3 after their 35-29 win over #9 Tennessee St. Hampton moved to #7 after knocking off previous #2 Florida A&M 23-17 and Delaware St. cracked the top-10 for the first time this season after holding off Div. II Shaw 31-27, at the #8 spot. Despite the setbacks, Tennessee St. and Norfolk St. held on the #9 & 10 position respectively.

Div. II has Albany St. with all but one first place vote, staying at the #1 position, after defeating Wingate 49-28 and Winston Salem St. got the other first place vote and moved up one position to #2 after whipping #9 Virginia Union 67-16. Bowie St. stayed unbeaten with their 31-14 win over Benedict and moved up to #3. The big surprise last weekend was NAIA’s Langston 33-19 win at #2 Tuskegee, moving them up from #10 to the #4 position. Unbeaten Kentucky St. moved into the top-10 for the first time this season at #7, with their 43-27 win over Lincoln (PA).
