(TUSCALOOSA, AL.) - The Stillman College Baseball team learned of its regional destination Sunday afternoon when the NCAA Division II Baseball Regional pairings were announced.

Stillman was awarded the No.8 seed in the South Regional and will face top-seeded Southern Arkansas, Thursday at 7:45pm. Southern Arkansas is the host school for the South Regional.

"I thought the seeding was fair, even though we beat a few of these teams in the regional a few times. We let too many close games get away from us , thus the 8th seed. We will be ok though, we are rested and ready play," Stillman manager Donny Crawford said.

Stillman (35-19), after winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) championship on May 3, will come into the regional having a week off and looks to repeat its earlier season success against Gulf South opponents. Stillman took two games from number #3 seed West Alabama, and also won a game at number #4 seed Tampa.

Southern Arkansas will boast a (49-9) record after capturing the 2009 Gulf South Conference baseball championship with a 5-0 defeat of number #7 seed Valdosta State.

"All the teams that get into this regional are very good," Crawford said. "So we've got to be ready to play."

You always want to play the best and sometimes you get what you ask for, but that's ok."

The regional will consist of eight teams and will send the winner to the NCAA Division II Championship Series in Cary, NC. on May 23-30.
