Eastern Division
As far as qualifying for the championship game, either Alabama A&M or Alabama State will play on Dec. 10 in Birmingham (Jackson State is not eligible for the championship game due to NCAA and SWAC post-season ban).

· If Alabama A&M wins this Saturday over Jackson State AND Alabama State loses to Southern, THEN Alabama A&M is the Division Champion.

· If Alabama State wins this Saturday over Southern AND Alabama A&M loses to Jackson State, THEN Alabama State is the Division Champion.

· If Alabama A&M and Alabama State both win or both lose this Saturday, then Alabama A&M will need to defeat Prairie View on Nov. 12 to win the division, otherwise, Alabama State wins the division.

· Jackson State can still mathematically share the division crown with Alabama A&M and Alabama State at 7-2, but would only have a tie-breaker advantage over the other two teams if Southern finishes higher than Grambling in the Western Division final standings. If there is a three-way tie, Alabama A&M holds the tie-breaker to qualify for the championship game.

Western Division
· Prairie View controls its own destiny in the West.

· PV can actually win the division this week if the Panthers defeat Alcorn State AND Grambling loses to Texas Southern AND Arkansas-Pine Bluff loses to Mississippi Valley State.

· If Prairie View loses either of its final two games, then Grambling controls its destiny vs. Texas Southern and Southern.

· Prairie View, UAPB, Grambling, and Southern all could still win the division outright. (Southern is not eligible for the championship game due to NCAA and SWAC post-season ban).

· There could still be a 3-way tie, a 4-way tie, and even a mathematical chance that all 5 teams in the division could finish 4-5.

NOTE: There are a few other 3-way and 4-way tie scenarios, but these are the most probable with 2 weeks left in the regular season. We will know more of the probabilities after this week’s games are played.

If there is a three-way tie at 5-4 or at 4-5 between Prairie View, Grambling, and UAPB – UAPB holds the tie-breaker by virtue of what would be its 3-1 division record and head-to-head victory over Prairie View. PV also would have a 3-1 division record (Grambling would have a 2-2 division record).

If there is a three-way tie at 5-4 between UAPB, Grambling, and Southern – UAPB holds the tie-breaker by virtue of what would be its 3-1 division record (Grambling would have a 2-2 division record, and Southern would have a 1-3 division record).

If there is a three-way tie at 5-4 between Prairie View, Grambling, and Southern – Prairie View defeated both Grambling and Southern head-to-head.

If there is a three-way tie at 5-4 between Prairie View, UAPB, and Southern – UAPB defeated both PV and Southern head-to-head

If there is a four-way tie at 5-4 between Prairie View, UAPB, Grambling, and Southern -- UAPB holds the tie-breaker by virtue of what would be its 3-1 division record and head-to-head victory over PV (Prairie View would have a 3-1 division record, Grambling would have a 2-2 division record, and Southern would have a 1-3 division record).

If there is a five-way tie at 4-5 – Prairie View holds the tie-breaker by virtue of what would be its 3-1 division record and its head-to-head victory over Texas Southern (TSU would have a 3-1 division record, UAPB would have a 2-2 division record, and both Grambling and Southern would have a 1-3 division record).
