The feature attraction in the Patriot League on HSRN on Saturday was the Bucknell Bison. They stepped on the floor unbeaten in conference play, and left the floor the same way…. still unbeaten. Bucknell is now the only unblemished team in the league after their 98-71 destruction of the Holy Cross Crusaders in a game heard here on HSRN.
Bucknell got out of the box with a bang, starting things with a 9-1 run; and never looked back. The Bison built a 52-30 halftime lead, and were never seriously challenged in the 2nd half. The star of the show for Bucknell was John Azzinaro who connected on (7) 3-pointers in route to a career high 21 point performance. Azzinaro was 7 of 10 beyond the arc. He got some help from Bucknell’s Nana Foulland and Chris Hass, who scored 12 points apiece.
Bucknell (8-8, 5-0 Patriot League) would continue their winning ways on Monday night with a road win at Lehigh. Chris Hass led the way with a 21 point, 3 steal performance
With the wins, Bucknell is alone in first place in the Patriot League with a perfect 5-0 league resume. Bucknell has won their five conference games by a average 0f 15 points a game.
